North Norfolk Cellars is an independent wine merchant based in the picturesque town of Wells-next-the-Sea. We stock a wide range of wines, spirits, food, plants, and gifts. Our bar, with stunning views of Wells Harbour and the saltmarsh, serves tapas made with high-quality local ingredients sourced directly from some of the best food producers. Enjoy wines by the glass, bottles, or try our tasting flights any time. Children and dogs are welcome if well-behaved, and booking is recommended.
We host a monthly wine tasting exploring different countries, grapes, or regions, and you can also book a private, bespoke tasting for groups of four or more—all easily arranged here on our site.
About Bert Blaize
North Norfolk Cellars was launched in 2023 by sommelier Bert Blaize. Bert trained at La Belle Epoque in Manchester and Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons, later joining The Clove Club, one of the UK’s top-ranked restaurants. He collaborated with Dan Barber on the ‘WastED’ project and won the UK’s Top Young Sommelier competition in 2019. Bert has blended wine with Château Pesquié, been named in the top 50 most influential people in the wine industry, published Which Wine When with Penguin, and will release his next book Drinking the World: A Wine Odyssey in 2025. He currently consults and curates bespoke wine and beverage offerings for some of the UK’s best restaurants, chefs, and bars.
