The 2010 Obaideh & Merwah from Chateau Musar hails from Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, where vineyards thrive at 1,200–1,300 metres on chalky, stony soils between the Lebanon and Anti‑Lebanon mountains. Established in 1930 by Gaston Hochar, the Hochar family still runs the estate, focusing on indigenous grapes and traditional, low-intervention winemaking. This vintage blends Obaideh and Merwah from old vines, fermented partly in oak, capturing a balance of richness and freshness despite a hot summer. The wine shows pear, citrus, thyme and lemongrass aromas with a textured, oily palate and hints of pine resin. Ideal with seafood, pâté, creamy poultry or subtly spiced dishes.
