Tucked into the slopes of the northern Peloponnese in the Aigialeia/Patras-Achaia zone, Tetramythos cultivates its vines in steep terrain at altitudes from roughly 650 to 1,000 metres, benefitting from cooling breezes off the Gulf of Corinth and mineral-rich limestone soils. The estate was founded by brothers Aristos and Stathis Spanos together with oenologist Panagiotis Papagiannopoulos around 1999-2004, and they now farm about 14 ha of organically managed vineyards.
The 2024 Malagousia is made from 100% of the grape variety, fermented and matured in stainless steel (for the ‘classic’ version) and presented in a fresh, luminous style. On the nose you’ll spot pale straw hues and aromas of jasmine, zingy citrus (think lime and grapefruit), white stone fruit and a suggestion of herbal undertones; the palate shows fine acidity, a clean line of minerality, and a refreshing, poised finish.
For food pairing: this wine’s crisp and clean profile makes it a brilliant partner to lightly grilled sea bass or gilt-head bream with lemon & capers, to a spring vegetable risotto or even a citrus-dressed salad with goat’s cheese. In short: elegant, enjoyable, and a bit of a Greek gem without being overly serious.
