2019 Margaux du, Château Margaux- Bordeaux

The 2019 Margaux du Château Margaux hails from the legendary estate Château Margaux in the appellation Margaux, on the Left Bank of Bordeaux. Established centuries ago and classified in 1855, Château Margaux’s vineyard sits upon deep gravel soils over clay-limestone—an ideal terroir for elegant Cabernet Sauvignon-led blends. 

This third-wine release (60 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 38 % Merlot, 1 % Cabernet Franc, 1 % Petit Verdot) from the 2019 vintage captures the warmest year on record in France, with minimal frost, a dry hot summer and perfectly timed maturity. The estate describes it as “floral, fruity and subtly spiced… smooth and silky” with a “long and aromatic” finish. 

On the palate you’ll find red and black fruits—blackcurrant, plum—framed by soft tannins and integrating oak, with that hallmark Mag¬raux elegance. Food-wise, it shines alongside rib-eye steak with béarnaise, roast lamb or even a mature Comté (the acidity cuts through the richness). Serve around 16-18 °C, and consider decanting to reveal all its charm.
