Régnié may be one of the lesser-known Beaujolais crus, but in the hands of Antoine Sunier, it absolutely shines. Nestled between Morgon and Brouilly, Régnié’s pink granite soils give this wine its signature freshness and mineral lift. Antoine, originally from Burgundy, made the leap into Beaujolais winemaking in 2014 and has quickly gained cult status for his pure, low-intervention style. He farms organically, using native yeasts and minimal sulphur, with only about 5 hectares under vine.
The 2021 vintage was cooler and more classic in style, resulting in wines with bright acidity and finesse. This bottling bursts with red cherry, cranberry, violets and a hint of white pepper. Juicy, energetic, and beautifully balanced, it's a joyful expression of Gamay.
Serve lightly chilled with charcuterie, roast chicken, or even grilled tuna. It’s serious enough for wine geeks, but utterly smashable for a casual Friday night. A proper hidden gem.
