Nestled in New Zealand’s famed Central Otago, Rippon Vineyard is a pioneer of high-altitude, organic viticulture. Established in 1982 by the Riddell family, Rippon sits on the shores of Lake Wanaka, with its vineyards perched between 320 and 480 metres above sea level. The terroir here is a stony mix of schist soils and cool, alpine climate, giving the wines their signature precision and vibrant acidity. Rippon farms organically, and their hands-off approach truly lets the grapes shine.
The 2021 Sauvignon Blanc is a fresh, elegant expression of this cool climate. With an alcohol level around 12.5%, it bursts with lively aromas of passionfruit, green apple, and zesty lime, alongside subtle herbaceous notes. The palate is crisp, balanced, and textured, showing a lovely minerality and a lingering, clean finish.
This Sauvignon Blanc is perfect with fresh seafood—think oysters or grilled prawns—as well as goat’s cheese and vibrant summer salads.
