The 1994 Domaine de Trévallon hails from the rugged limestone hills of Les Baux-de-Provence, in the heart of France’s sun-drenched South West. This region, known more for olive groves and Roman ruins than Bordeaux-style reds, defies expectation with Trévallon’s bold blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah—unusual for a region leaning towards Grenache and Mourvèdre. Founded in 1973 by the visionary Eloi Dürrbach, Domaine de Trévallon sits on about 20 hectares of wild, garrigue-laced terroir. The 1994 vintage was marked by a hot, dry summer, resulting in a wine of concentration and rustic elegance.

This bottle, now beautifully mature, offers a beguiling mix of dried herbs, leather, black olive, and cassis. The tannins have softened into silk, while the acidity keeps it vibrant. A perfect partner to roast lamb, duck confit, or a rich mushroom risotto. Trévallon isn't just a wine—it’s a soulful Provençal rebel in a bottle.
