The 1999 Saint-Julien, Château Moulin Riche is a superb example of the elegance and refinement of Bordeaux’s Left Bank. Situated in the prestigious Saint-Julien appellation, Château Moulin Riche is a historic estate that has been producing wines since the 17th century. Owned by the well-respected Cuvelier family, who also own the renowned Château Léoville Poyferré, the estate benefits from the excellent terroir of gravelly soils, perfect for growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot.
The 1999 vintage is a lovely reflection of this exceptional terroir, offering a nose of dark fruit, tobacco, and subtle leather notes. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied with silky tannins and layers of blackcurrant, plum, and hints of cedar. There’s a nice balance of freshness and complexity, with a long, refined finish.
This wine pairs beautifully with rich dishes like roast beef, lamb, or a classic duck confit. It’s perfect for a special occasion or an indulgent evening with fine food.
