The 2006 Henri Milan Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre (GSM) blend is a captivating expression of Provence's rugged terroir. Nestled in the foothills of the Alpilles, near Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Domaine Milan spans 10 hectares of blue marl and limestone soils. Henri Milan, a pioneer in biodynamic viticulture, has cultivated this estate since 1986, moving away from conventional farming to embrace organic and biodynamic practices .
The 2006 vintage, produced under the Baux-de-Provence AOC, showcases a harmonious blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. The wine offers aromas of ripe red berries, garrigue herbs, and subtle spices. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with velvety tannins and a lingering finish. Aging in concrete tanks for four years imparts freshness and minerality, reflecting the estate's commitment to purity and expression of terroir.
This wine pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, ratatouille, or a selection of aged cheeses. Its structure and complexity also make it a delightful companion to hearty stews or charcuterie platters.
