The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet from Benoît Ente is a masterclass in elegance from one of Burgundy’s most meticulous winemakers. Nestled in the Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet is famed for its chalky, well-drained limestone soils that lend an unmistakable minerality to Chardonnay. Benoît Ente, who farms just under 6 hectares, is renowned for low-intervention, detail-driven winemaking—think surgical precision in both vineyard and cellar.
The 2015 vintage was warm and dry, producing ripe, generous fruit, yet Ente managed to retain tension and finesse. This wine sings with notes of lemon curd, white flowers, toasted hazelnuts and a whisper of wet stone. It’s tightly coiled, yet gloriously expressive.
Perfect with grilled lobster, roast chicken with tarragon, or a creamy mushroom risotto, this bottle is drinking beautifully now but has the bones to age gracefully. A real treat from one of Puligny's rising stars—refined, restrained and utterly delicious.
