From Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, the 2018 Obaideh & Merwah from Chateau Musar reflects a remarkable high-altitude terroir between the Lebanon and Anti-Lebanon mountains, where vines grow at around 1,200–1,300 metres. Founded in 1930 by Gaston Hochar and now run by the Hochar family, the estate farms about 180 hectares and champions traditional, low-intervention winemaking. This vintage blends indigenous Obaideh and Merwah grapes and benefited from healthy winter rains and a warm growing season. The wine offers aromas of citrus, quince and baked apple with touches of honey, herbs and subtle oak, finishing fresh and textured. It pairs beautifully with grilled fish, roast chicken, mezze and bright Mediterranean seafood dishes.
