Gianni Brunelli’s 2020 Brunello di Montalcino captures the character of Tuscany’s celebrated Montalcino hills, where altitude, sunshine and stony soils shape Sangiovese’s distinctive perfume and freshness. Founded in 1987, the estate farms around 7 hectares across Le Chiuse di Sotto and Podernovone, combining northern and south-eastern sites. The 100% Sangiovese 2020 was a warm, dry vintage balanced by cooling nights and late-season rain, producing generous yet fresh wines. Expect ripe cherry, wild berries, orange peel, violets, spice and balsamic hints, wrapped in silky tannins. Brilliant with bistecca alla Fiorentina, wild boar, roast lamb or mature Pecorino.
