2020 Saperavi Mukuzani - Kaheti

From Georgia’s sun-soaked Kakheti, the 2020 Saperavi Mukuzani captures Mukuzani’s distinctive terroir. Vineyards sit at roughly 350–700 metres, where warm, dry summers, cooling Caucasus breezes and clay-loam, calcareous soils help Saperavi ripen with concentration and freshness. Produced by Mukuzani Wine Cellar, this 100% Saperavi is a dry red at 14% alcohol, matured in oak for 18 months. The 2020 vintage shows ripe blueberry and blackberry, plum crumble, black cherry, dark chocolate and sweet spice, with smooth tannins and a savoury, lingering finish. Pour it with lamb chops, grilled beef, mushroom stew or khachapuri for a gloriously Georgian feast.
