2021 was a challenging vintage, but as always top producers like Claire always produce exceptional wine. When we visited and tasted from barrel early in 2023 we noted that the wines from this vintage were fresh, elegant and approachable when young. Claire Naudin is the daughter of the great Henri Naudin-Ferrand. She’s taken a different approach to winemaking, which came from her being very sensitive to sulphur in wine. There are tiny amounts in her wine which gives energy to the fruit which is packed full of tart cherries and raspberries.
