2021 Côtes de Nuits Village ‘Aux Boulardes’ Jean Tardy

From Comblanchien in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits, the 2021 Côtes de Nuits Villages ‘Aux Boulardes’ from Domaine Jean Tardy & Fils is a charming Pinot Noir with plenty of pedigree. The south-facing parcel sits at 300–350 metres, on limestone and sandstone beneath a thin clay layer. Guillaume Tardy farms around 4.5–5.5 hectares, producing roughly 20,000 bottles annually, with careful, low-yield viticulture. The cooler 2021 vintage brings lovely freshness and precision, with red cherry, raspberry, rose petal and earthy nuances, supported by fine tannins. Aged in oak with only 25% new wood, it’s delicious with roast duck, roast chicken, grilled red meat or mushroom risotto.
