2022 Kisi & Rkatsiteli, Bedoba - Georgia, Kakheti

The 2022 Bedoba Kisi & Rkatsiteli hails from Kakheti, Georgia’s historic wine heartland, where warm days, cool Caucasus nights and deep blue slate and limestone soils give grapes both concentration and freshness. Bedoba was created by Swiss winemaker Thierry Fontannaz and Georgian winemaker Nugzar Ksovreli, continuing a family winemaking tradition whose cellars date to 1737. This 70% Rkatsiteli and 30% Kisi blend combines qvevri skin fermentation with stainless steel, creating a beautifully textured amber wine. The challenging 2022 vintage saw hail, spring rain and summer drought. Expect dried apricot, honey, orange peel and wild herbs. Delicious with roast aubergine, chicken tagine, spiced dishes, hard cheese or Georgian khachapuri.
