Hailing from Dijon, Julien Sunier defied familial tradition by charting a path into the world of wine during his teenage years. Encouraged by family friend Christophe Roumier, his passion for winemaking flourished. Following academic pursuits in oenology and viticulture, Julien honed his skills through hands-on experience alongside Roumier.
His “Wild Soul” Beaujolais-Villages, boasting a modest 11.5% alcohol content, epitomises the essence of Gamay with its light, invigorating profile. The 2021 vintage sources organic grapes from a fellow vintner in Lantignié, complemented by fruit from Julien’s burgeoning vines in Fleurie. Delicate floral aromas mingle with a subtle peppery note on the nose, while the palate delights in vibrant berry flavours and a brisk, palate-cleansing acidity. Ideal for warm weather enjoyment, this wine shines when lightly chilled, whether savoured solo or paired with lighter fare, making it a quintessential summer indulgence.
