The 2022 Barbera d'Alba "Aves" from G.B. Burlotto is a superb example of Barbera’s versatility, hailing from the prestigious Langhe region in Piedmont, where the rich, well-drained soils and the cooling effects of the Alps create an ideal terroir for growing this native grape. G.B. Burlotto, established in 1850, is one of the region’s most respected producers, known for its commitment to quality and traditional winemaking. With around 10 hectares of vineyards, Burlotto focuses on crafting wines that express the pure essence of their terroir.
The 2022 vintage is lively and expressive, offering a fresh bouquet of ripe red cherries, plums, and a delicate floral note. On the palate, it’s bright and juicy with vibrant acidity, balanced by soft tannins and flavours of red fruit and a hint of spice.
This Barbera is perfect with classic Piedmontese dishes like agnolotti with butter and sage, grilled meats, or a rich cheese board featuring Castelmagno. A fantastic, food-friendly wine!
