2022 Mercurey, Vieilles Vignes, Raquillet

The 2022 Mercurey Vieilles Vignes from Domaine Raquillet is a bold, characterful Pinot Noir from one of the Côte Chalonnaise’s top appellations. Raquillet, a respected name in Mercurey, has been family-run for over 11 generations and now operates around 10 hectares of vines, many of which are over 50 years old—hence “Vieilles Vignes”.

The 2022 vintage was warm and generous, producing ripe, concentrated fruit while retaining freshness thanks to cool nights and well-drained limestone-clay soils. This wine is deeper and more structured than your average Burgundy, with notes of black cherry, wild strawberry, earthy spice, and a lick of sweet oak from barrel ageing.

There's real depth here—think silky tannins, a savoury finish, and serious ageing potential (up to 7–10 years). Perfect with duck breast, grilled lamb chops, or wild mushroom tart. It’s Mercurey with muscle and finesse—classic Raquillet, and a proper treat for Pinot lovers
