From Meursault in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, the 2022 Domaine Jobard-Morey Les Narvaux is a Chardonnay with plenty to say. The family estate, founded in 1949, farms around 6 hectares, with these vines averaging 55 years old. Les Narvaux enjoys a south-east exposure, with fine soil over limestone bedrock, giving the wine a racy mineral edge. The warm, sunny 2022 vintage brings generous fruit and supple richness, while barrel fermentation and a year’s élevage add polish. Expect pear, citrus, orange oil, subtle spice and wet-stone freshness. Delicious with roast chicken, scallops, lobster or creamy mushroom risotto.
