The 2022 Rkatsiteli from Tiko Estate hails from the Kakheti region in eastern Georgia – the heartland of Georgian winemaking and home to some of the world’s oldest viticultural traditions. With its sunny days, cool nights, and fertile alluvial soils along the Alazani Valley, Kakheti offers ideal conditions for growing Rkatsiteli, one of Georgia’s most historic grape varieties. Tiko Estate, founded in 2017 by brothers Levan and Giorgi Chychynadze, blends traditional winemaking methods with modern techniques, focusing on quality and local character.
This vintage is part-fermented in stainless steel and part in French oak barriques (around one-third new), with 10 months on the lees for added depth. The result is a fresh yet textured wine with notes of white peach, melon, citrus peel and a subtle creamy edge. On the palate, it’s elegant, medium-bodied, and balanced by lively acidity.
It’s a cracking match with shellfish, grilled sea bass, creamy lemon pasta, or soft cheeses like Brie or burrata.
