The 2022 Vendangeur Masqué by Alice and Olivier De Moor is a captivating white from Chablis renegades turned natural wine icons. Though based in Courgis, Burgundy, this label—meaning “masked harvester”—lets them source grapes from outside their estate, offering a broader canvas for their low-intervention philosophy. In 2022, a warm, generous vintage across much of France delivered ripe, expressive fruit with excellent balance, and this cuvée sings because of it.
Typically crafted from Chardonnay or occasionally Aligoté, the Vendangeur Masqué is taut yet textured—think citrus zest, green apple, and crushed oyster shell, with a hint of wild herb and flint. The limestone terroir comes through with clarity and salinity, a nod to De Moor’s Chablis roots.
Unfiltered, unfined, and made with minimal sulphur, it’s a wine for the curious palate. Perfect with oysters, creamy goat's cheese, or lemony roast chicken—anything that lets its racy acidity shine.
