Nestled in the heart of the Jura at Montigny‑lès‑Arsures near the appellation Arbois, the estate of Domaine Bénédicte & Stéphane Tissot spans roughly 45–50 hectares of vineyards, all farmed under biodynamic principles since the early 2000s. Their soils are the Jura’s trademark mix of limestone, marl and clay – perfect for capturing the region’s expressive finesse.

Their 2023 red blend, “DD”, brings together the local grape trio of Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir, hand-harvested and lightly treated (some parcels destemmed, long macerations, older foudres) with minimal sulphur. On the nose you’ll pick up juicy cranberry and wild cherry, a hint of dark berries and gentle spice, paired with a chalk-fine tannin texture. The palate is lively, fresh, with a touch of pepper and a persistent savoury finish.

Food-wise it’s a peach with game terrine, herb-roasted rabbit or lightly spiced mushroom risotto. Serve at about 14-16 °C to let the freshness sing. A vibrant Jura red that invites enjoyment now but has enough structure to develop over a couple of years.
