The 2023 Bourgogne Rouge from Deliance is a vibrant expression of Burgundy’s storied Côte Chalonnaise. Nestled in Givry, Domaine Deliance is a small, family-run operation with around 18 hectares of sustainably-farmed vineyards. Their 2023 vintage captures the cool elegance of a year marked by a mild spring and a long, sunny ripening period—ideal for expressive Pinot Noir.
Grown on clay-limestone soils, the terroir here lends minerality and freshness, with hand-harvested grapes ensuring quality. The wine bursts with red cherry, raspberry, and a touch of violet, balanced by subtle spice and soft tannins—aged partly in oak for finesse without overwhelming the fruit.
It’s delightfully drinkable now, though a year or two of cellaring wouldn’t hurt. Try it lightly chilled with roast duck, mushroom risotto, or a simple charcuterie board
