The 2023 Côtes du Rhône ‘La Combe de la Lune’ by Les Deux Cols is a juicy, modern Rhône red with proper finesse. Les Deux Cols is a small, quality-focused project founded by Irish-born winemaker Simon Tyrrell, crafting low-intervention wines from hand-tended vineyards across the southern Rhône. ‘La Combe de la Lune’ comes from old-vine Grenache, Syrah and a touch of Cinsault grown on clay-limestone soils near the village of Séguret.
The 2023 vintage was warm but balanced by cool nights, resulting in ripe fruit with excellent freshness. This wine is all about plush red cherry, wild herbs, and a whisper of peppery spice. It’s medium-bodied with silky tannins and a bright, moreish finish—unfussy but seriously well-made.
Ideal with lamb koftas, aubergine parmigiana or a midweek sausage and mash. A bang-on bottle that brings the sunshine of the Rhône straight to your dinner
