From the northern Rhône’s 11-commune Crozes-Hermitage, ‘C’est le Printemps’ is Dard & Ribo’s joyous, early-drinking Syrah: bright, juicy and gloriously unfussy. The appellation covers around 1,650 hectares, with terroirs ranging from granite and clay to sand and Rhône-rolled pebbles. René-Jean Dard and François Ribo founded their domaine in 1983 and farm around 8.5 hectares organically. The challenging, wet 2024 vintage demanded plenty of vineyard work, but delivered wines with freshness and energy. Expect raspberry, blackcurrant, violets, pepper and subtle spice, with a lively, juicy finish. Delicious alongside charcuterie, roast lamb, sausages, grilled vegetables or smoky barbecue fare.
