The 2023 New Rosé from Westwell is a wonderfully characterful expression of Kent’s modern wine scene. Crafted on the chalk-rich slopes of the North Downs, an area whose soils and climate echo parts of Champagne, this wine captures the freshness and precision of England’s leading wine region. Westwell’s family-run estate spans just under 10 hectares, with Adrian Pike and his team championing low-intervention winemaking and sustainable vineyard practices. The 2023 vintage saw healthy fruit and vibrant acidity, producing a rosé bursting with white cherry, raspberry, red apple and pear, finished with a mouth-watering saline edge. Delicious with miso-baked salmon, goat’s cheese tart or simply a bag of posh crisps.
