The 2023 'El Marujo' is a vibrant, organic Tempranillo from Señorío de Librares, a family-run bodega in Rioja Baja. Sisters Clara and Patricia Espinosa helm this estate, cultivating 10 hectares of native grapes—Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha, and Viura—around El Villar de Arnedo. Their great-great-grandfather Pedro won a gold medal at the 1878 Paris World Fair, setting a legacy of quality winemaking.
The 2023 vintage is a fresh, fruit-forward red with a bright cherry hue. Aromas of ripe red and black strawberries mingle with floral notes and a subtle mineral edge. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with balanced acidity and a harmonious finish.
Food Pairings: Ideal with blue cheeses, red meats in sauce, or classic Spanish tapas. Serve slightly chilled at 12°C for optimal enjoyment.
'El Marujo' offers a delightful snapshot of modern Rioja, combining tradition with a contemporary twist.
