2024 Maranges ‘Les Meurées’, Domaine Chavy-Chouet

The 2024 Maranges ‘Les Meurées’ from Domaine Chavy-Chouet hails from Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, where Maranges marks the region’s southernmost outpost. Chardonnay thrives here on steepslopes of poor, limestone-rich soils, bringing plenty of mineral character. Seventh-generation vigneron Romaric Chavy farms around15 hectares across 14 appellations, combining traditional know-how with meticulous vineyard work. The tricky 2024 vintage brought frost, rain and disease pressure, but a favourable late season helped deliver bright, fresh wines. Expect lively aromas of lemon, white peach and honeysuckle, followed by wet stone, hazelnut and a lovely saline finish. Try it with roast sea trout, shellfish, creamy chicken or Comté.
