Huia’s 2024 Riesling captures Marlborough’s sunny, cool-climate charm, from vines rooted in free-draining alluvial gravel, sand and silt beside the Wairau River. Huia, established in 1996, farms a 6.5-hectare home block organically, with biodynamic and regenerative practices, while its winemaking embraces small-batch, thoughtful techniques. The 2024 vintage was warm, exceptionally dry and marked by cool nights, producing healthy, concentrated fruit and excellent flavour development. Expect fragrant citrus, lemon zest, ripe stone fruit, floral notes and a lively, mineral-edged palate, balanced by refreshing acidity. Delicious with oysters, Thai cuisine, sushi, goat’s cheese or lightly spiced seafood dishes.
