The 2024 Heinrichshof Spätburgunder comes from Zeltingen-Rachtig in the Mosel, where steep, sun-catching slopes and Devonian slate give Pinot Noir a distinctly cool, mineral feel. The Griebeler family has made wine here for 11 generations; brothers Peter and Ulrich took over in 2014 and now farm around 10 hectares, producing roughly 70,000 bottles annually. Their 2024 Pinot is dry, 13% ABV and matured in used barriques. Falstaff awarded it 90+, noting youthful sour cherry, Provençal herbs, almond and plum, with fine tannins and lively acidity. Serve lightly chilled with roast duck, pork, mushroom pasta or herby sausages.
