2025 Chenin Blanc, Badenhorst Family Wines, Swartland

Badenhorst Family Wines’ 2025 Chenin Blanc comes from the rugged Swartland, north of Cape Town, where dry-farmed bush vines grow on ancient granite and shale soils. Cousins Adi and Hein Badenhorst established the family winery in 2008, taking over a historic 28-hectare vineyard property and becoming prominent champions of old-vine Swartland Chenin. The 2025 vintage delivers plenty of character, combining warm-climate ripeness with refreshing natural acidity. Expect aromas of ripe pear, peach, citrus and subtle honey, followed by a textured palate of stone fruit, spice and a gently savoury, mineral finish. It’s a cracking match for roast chicken, pork, grilled fish, shellfish, creamy cheeses or fragrant Thai dishes.
