Clonakilty Double Oak Cask Whiskey

From the windswept Atlantic coast of Clonakilty in County Cork, Clonakilty Double Oak Cask captures West Cork’s rugged maritime character. The Scully family, farming locally for nine generations, founded the distillery in 2016, with whiskey distilling beginning in 2019. Bottled at 43.6% ABV, this 70cl blend marries Clonakilty-distilled Single Pot Still whiskey with Single Grain whiskey. It is matured in ex-bourbon, virgin American oak, and shaved, re-toasted European red-wine barrels. There’s no vintage or age statement. Expect vanilla, soft spice, ginger, hazelnut, toffee and caramel, with a lingering finish. Serve neat or with water, beside blue cheese and apple tart.
