Clonakilty Single Pot Still Whiskey

From Clonakilty, County Cork, on Ireland’s Atlantic coast, comes a Single Pot Still whiskey from the Scully family’s nine-generation farming heritage. Clonakilty Distillery opened in 2019, filling its first cask on 1st May; the spirit is made from 100% Cork-grown barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills and bottled at 46% ABV. It is non-age-statement whiskey, with the inaugural release matured for five years in ex-Bourbon, Amontillado and Oloroso sherry casks. Expect vanilla, demerara sugar, kiwi, caramelised pear, apple, wood spice, chocolate and orange. Sip it neat in a tulip glass, or add water; pair with chocolate or almond tart.
