Hermitage Cognac 2008 Grande Champange

Hermitage 2008 Grande Champagne comes from Cognac’s premier cru, where chalky soils and a gentle maritime climate help create eaux-de-vie famed for elegance and slow ageing. Hermitage, established by David Baker in 1987, specialises in rare, single-estate Cognacs sourced from family-owned producers. This 2008 vintage is a single-barrel, single-estate bottling, aged in a small cask in damp cellars and bottled at 45% ABV. Expect baked apple, dates and roasted nuts on the nose, followed by cinnamon, toffee, pistachio, mango, passion fruit and sweet orange. Serve neat in a tulip glass, alongside blue cheese, dark chocolate or tarte Tatin.
