Roccin Père hails from the charming Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, a cooler, hilltop area just above Burgundy’s famous Côte de Beaune. The vineyards sit on limestone-rich soils, lending a fresh minerality and finesse to the Pinot Noir grown here. The 1993 vintage was a warm, somewhat challenging year, but reds from higher-altitude sites like this developed lovely depth and ageing potential.
Domaine Roccin Père et Fils is a small family-run estate with around 14 hectares spread across the region, known for their traditional approach and careful yield management. Their Hautes-Côtes de Beaune from ’93 now shows mature character—medium ruby with hints of amber, packed with red cherry, forest floor and soft spice aromas.
On the palate, expect gentle tannins, balanced acidity and earthy complexity. Perfect paired with roast chicken, game birds or mushroom risotto, it’s a lovely glimpse of classic Burgundian charm, aged to elegant perfection.
