The 2022 Rosato from Massa Vecchia is a captivating Tuscan rosé that perfectly reflects the rugged beauty of Alta Maremma and the Metalliferous Hills of southern Tuscany. Here, warm Mediterranean sunshine, cooling coastal influences and mineral-rich limestone soils create wines of remarkable character and energy. Founded in 1985 by Fabrizio Niccolaini and Patrizia Bartolini, Massa Vecchia is a cult estate farming just 3.6 hectares of vines within a six-hectare mixed farm, producing around 15,000 bottles annually. Crafted primarily from Malvasia Nera with a touch of Merlot, the 2022 vintage offers vibrant aromas of wild berries, cherry, rose petal, ginger and Mediterranean herbs, underpinned by a distinctive saline, earthy edge. Textured, fresh and wonderfully gastronomic, it pairs beautifully with grilled seafood, charcuterie, roast chicken, herb-led pasta dishes and mature cheeses.
