2021 Rosso (Sangiovese, Canaiolo & Colorino) Montevertine

The 2021 Rosso from Montevertine is a joyous expression of Tuscany’s Chianti Classico hills, particularly around Radda, where vineyards perch over 400 metres on stony marl and alberese soils, lending freshness and finesse to Sangiovese. Montevertine, founded in 1967 and producing roughly 80,000 bottles annually, is a fiercely traditional estate, devoted to native grapes and long ageing in large Slavonian oak. The 2021 vintage, shaped by a cooler, later season, offers bright cherry, violet, spice and liquorice, with taut tannins and vibrant acidity. Perfect with game ragù, grilled lamb or aged pecorino, it captures classic Tuscan character in every sip.
